Questions professors ask us
Frequently asked questions
- Who pays on the Course Pack plan?
- The professor assigns the work; students purchase an access code — the same way they buy a coursepack or courseware license from the bookstore. There is no per-seat bill to the instructor or the department.
- Can I pilot QPAssess for free?
- Yes. The Educator plan is a full-featured free tier for individual instructors — unlimited assessments, AI grading, Canvas integration, and rehearsal mode. Run a real assessment in a real course before anyone pays anything.
- Does it work with Canvas?
- Yes. QPAssess integrates with Canvas via LTI 1.3, including grade passback: students launch assessments from your Canvas course, and approved grades land in your Canvas gradebook.
- What happens to student data?
- Student recordings, transcripts, and grades stay under the educator's control. We do not train AI models on student data, and our trust center documents exactly what we collect, where it lives, and who can access it.
- How does AI grading stay fair?
- The AI scores against your rubric — your criteria, your weights, your performance levels — and every score comes with the transcript as evidence. Nothing counts until the educator approves it: you accept, adjust, or override every grade.
